SMS Consent and Opt-In Information

Starmer Nutrition LLC collects consent for text messaging in two ways. Consent to receive text messages is optional and is not a condition of receiving services. Patients who decline text messaging receive full access to all services and are contacted by phone or email instead.

Verbal consent at referral

When a patient is referred to our practice, staff read the following before any text message is sent:

"Would you like to receive up to three text messages from Starmer Nutrition with an invitation to book a nutrition session or enroll in our Metabolic Reset Program? Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is optional and is not a condition of receiving services. If you prefer, we can email you the invitation instead, or you can book directly on our website. Do you agree?"

Only patients who verbally agree receive invitation texts. Consent is recorded in the patient's record with the date.

Written consent on our booking form

Patients who book with us complete forms that include the following separate, optional consent checkbox, which is unchecked by default and is not bundled with any required agreement:

"I agree to receive text messages from Starmer Nutrition LLC, including appointment reminders, scheduling updates, and program information, at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of receiving services. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Privacy Policy/Terms & Conditions: https://www.starmernutrition.com/legal"

The form can be completed and submitted without selecting this checkbox. Below is how consent appears at each stage: our online booking form, our provider referral form where verbal consent is recorded, and the Texting Consent section of our intake forms.
