ABOUT ME

Danielle Gersmehl, RD LDN

Danielle Gersmehl, owner of Starmer Nutrition, is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and has a specialized focus in digestive health, particularly conditions affecting the stomach and liver. After earning her degree from Samford University and completing her Dietetic Internship through National Healthcare Corporation, Danielle began a personal journey of healing her own IBS. That experience reshaped her relationship with food and body image and ignited a passion for helping others find freedom and relief through gut-focused nutrition.

As the first dietitian in Alabama to complete specialized low-FODMAP training, Danielle brings both expertise and empathy to her work with clients navigating complex GI issues—from IBS and acid reflux to fatty liver and liver disease. Her approach is evidence-based, compassionate, and weight-neutral, rooted in creating sustainable, realistic habits that support healing and long-term well-being.

Whether you're managing a new diagnosis or seeking relief after years of digestive discomfort, Danielle offers a supportive partnership to help you feel confident in your body and your choices.

ABOUT ME

Katie Keller, MS, RDN, LD

Katie Keller is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a passion for using food as medicine and helping clients build sustainable, lifelong habits that support their health. A former collegiate athlete, Katie experienced firsthand how intentional nutrition and movement impact energy, daily functioning, and overall well-being—sparking a lasting interest in how food supports both immediate and long-term health.
After earning her Master of Science in Nutrition and completing her dietetic internship at Samford University, Katie began her career as a clinical dietitian. Working with patients across a wide range of medical conditions strengthened her clinical foundation and reinforced her belief that meaningful health outcomes come from sustainable change, not quick fixes.
Katie believes that every person’s body, history, and needs are unique. Her nutrition philosophy is holistic, evidence-based, and realistic, focusing on the whole person rather than just a diagnosis. She works with clients to manage symptoms, support both short- and long-term health, and reduce the risk of future complications through individualized nutrition care. Katie is committed to meeting clients where they are and creating sustainable plans that help them feel confident, supported, and empowered in their daily choices.
